2012 Jeep Wranger Rubicon 4x4: Zombie disaster accepted

Mercedes Benz India tactics 350 crores asset to nearby manufacture innovative models


As Mercedes India strategy to restore its extended lost era of supremacy, the carmaker is gambling big on local assembly to diminish the cost of the purchase. The company is setting up to invest Rs 350 crores in the Chakan plant to add two additional production lines. These production lines will be used in the roll out of 4-5 new models which will be assemble in India instead of being import as a CBU.

The models that are being measured for local assembly include long wheelbase version of the C and the E Class (finally!), soon-to-come B-Class MPV, A Class hatchback , M-Class (2012) and the GL-Class (2013). The ‘GLC’ – a small crossover at present being urbanized to challenge the BMW X1 is also under consideration for local meeting.

VW might start on Passat and Jetta in diesel
